📖 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” — John 14:27

There’s a kind of peace the world offers us, and it usually sounds like this: “Once things settle down, you’ll feel better.”
Once the kids sleep through the night.Once the house is clean.Once the bills are paid.Once life slows down.
But if you’re a mom, you already know the truth: life rarely settles down for long. There’s always another mess, another need, another schedule change, another emotional moment. If our peace depends on our circumstances, then our peace will always be fragile.
In this episode of Rooted Woman, we talk about the difference between the world’s version of peace and the peace Jesus offers us. In John 14:27, Jesus promises a peace that doesn’t disappear when life gets loud. His peace isn’t dependent on a calm schedule or perfect circumstances — it’s anchored in His presence.
One of the biggest reasons we struggle to live from a place of peace is because we’re trying to live from a place of control. When life feels uncertain, our instinct is to tighten our grip. We try to control outcomes, schedules, emotions, expectations, and even how our children will turn out. But control is exhausting, and it’s a burden God never asked us to carry.
Peace isn’t found in holding everything together.Peace is found in surrender.
In this conversation, we explore what it looks like to release the pressure of trying to be everything for everyone and instead trust the One who is already holding it all together. Because you were never meant to be the savior of your home — you already have a Savior, and His name is Jesus.
You’ll also hear about simple daily rhythms that help cultivate peace in the middle of real life — not a perfect life. Things like opening your Bible for a few minutes in the morning, whispering prayers throughout your day, worshiping while you fold laundry, or stepping outside for a quiet moment with God.
Peace is not just a feeling. It’s a rhythm we practice and return to again and again.
If you’re in a season where peace feels far away, this episode is a reminder that peace is not something you have to manufacture. It’s something Jesus has already given you.
Sometimes the invitation is simply to slow down long enough to receive it.

As moms, our minds are pulled in a million directions. Between the responsibilities, the mental load, and the constant concern for our families, it’s easy for negative thoughts to take root. Thoughts like “I’m not enough,” “I’m failing,” or “I can’t do this.” But God’s Word reminds us that what we focus on matters. Philippians 4:8 calls us to fix our minds on what is true, noble, pure, and praiseworthy.
In this episode, we’re talking about Scripture-based affirmations—not empty positivity, but powerful declarations rooted in God’s truth.
When we speak the Word of God over our lives, it shifts our mindset from fear to faith, from insecurity to confidence, and from striving to peace. These affirmations remind us that our identity is not rooted in performance, comparison, or the opinions of others—it’s rooted in Christ.
I’m sharing how this practice has impacted my own life, and how speaking verses aloud has helped renew my mind and guard my heart. We’ll also talk about why this is such a beautiful tool to teach our children—so they grow up learning to see themselves through God’s lens, not the world’s.
If you’re new to this, start simple. Choose one verse for your current season and repeat it throughout the day. Write it on a sticky note, keep it in your journal, say it in the carpool line, or speak it before bed. Over time, God uses His Word to reshape the way we think—and that transformation affects every part of motherhood.
Mama, you are not too far gone. You are not too overwhelmed. And you are not alone. God’s truth is stronger than every lie you’ve believed.

As moms, we carry so much—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Our hearts are wired to nurture, to say yes when someone needs help, and to step in even when we’re running on empty. But the truth is, not every “yes” honors God. Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is say “no” and trust that obedience looks like protecting the peace God has given us. Setting boundaries isn’t selfish—it’s stewardship.
I used to wrestle with guilt whenever I said no. Whether it was declining an extra commitment at church, turning down a playdate when I needed rest, or even asking for help at home—it felt like I was letting someone down. But over time, God has shown me that boundaries aren’t barriers to love; they’re guides that help us love well. When we say yes to everything, we end up stretched thin, distracted, and disconnected from the very people we want to serve wholeheartedly—our family and the Lord.
Jesus modeled boundaries beautifully. He often withdrew from the crowds to pray, rest, and be with the Father. He wasn’t driven by guilt or pressure but by purpose. Every “yes” He gave was intentional and aligned with His Father’s will. That’s the kind of discernment we need as mothers—to recognize that saying no to one thing often means saying yes to something more important, like time with our kids, time in the Word, or time to simply breathe and be restored.
It’s also powerful to teach our children about healthy boundaries. When they see us set limits with love—whether it’s protecting family time, saying no to activities that overwhelm, or standing firm in what’s right—they learn that boundaries aren’t rejection; they’re respect. They begin to understand that their value doesn’t come from constant doing but from being who God created them to be.
Finding the balance between serving and self-care takes practice. But when you anchor your decisions in prayer and peace, you’ll find freedom from guilt. God never asked us to be everything to everyone—He simply asks us to be faithful to the things He’s called us to. Boundaries help us stay rooted in that calling.
So, take a deep breath today and give yourself permission to rest in your “no” when it’s needed. Your worth isn’t found in how much you do—it’s found in who you belong to. Say yes to what brings you closer to Him, and let everything else fall into His hands.

There’s something powerful about putting pen to paper. In a world full of noise and distraction, journaling becomes a sacred pause—a quiet moment to meet with God, process what’s stirring in your heart, and remember His faithfulness.
In this episode of Rooted Woman, we’re talking about journaling as a practical, faith-filled tool for growth—especially in motherhood, when life feels busy, loud, and emotionally heavy. I’ve found that when I take time to write out my thoughts, prayers, and even my frustrations, it’s like clearing the fog between my head and my heart. What felt overwhelming starts to make sense, and I can see God’s fingerprints in places I might have missed before.
Journaling gives our thoughts a place to land. It becomes a way of capturing what God is teaching us in real time. Maybe you write out your prayers—raw, unfiltered, and real—or maybe you jot down a few things you’re grateful for each day. Gratitude journaling has a way of shifting our focus from what’s missing to what’s present… from frustration to faith.
I’ve had seasons where my journal became my lifeline—a safe space to process emotions I couldn’t voice out loud. Motherhood can stir up feelings of inadequacy, loneliness, and guilt, but writing them down and bringing them before God helps us see truth more clearly. And when you look back at old entries, you start to see just how faithful He’s been—how many prayers He answered, even the ones you thought were forgotten.
If you’re new to journaling, start simple:Write a short prayer.Record a verse that speaks to you.End the day with three things you’re thankful for.Ask God to reveal what He wants you to see through what you write.
It’s not about making it perfect—it’s about making space for Him.
Over time, journaling becomes more than reflection—it becomes a record of growth. You’ll see patterns of God’s faithfulness, lessons learned, and prayers answered. And your faith will grow because you can look back and see just how far He’s brought you.

Have you ever walked through a spiritual dry season—where you’re still showing up, still praying, still reading your Bible… but everything feels quiet?
One day you’re full of joy and hunger for God, and the next it’s like your heart goes silent. Worship feels flat. Scripture feels distant. Prayer feels unanswered. And it can be confusing, discouraging, and even lonely.
In today’s episode of Rooted Woman, we’re talking about what to do when your faith feels dry—and why dryness doesn’t always mean distance. Sometimes, it’s God inviting you deeper.
Just like roots grow deeper during drought, your faith can grow stronger in seasons where you don’t feel Him. Those unseen moments—when you keep seeking, keep obeying, and keep whispering prayers through tears—are often where spiritual maturity is formed.
We’ll talk about:
Why spiritual dry seasons happen
How God uses silence to strengthen your faith
What to do when you don’t feel connected to Him
How to keep showing up without pressure or performance
Learning to trust God in the waiting
If you’re weary, discouraged, or unsure where God is right now, this episode is for you. He hasn’t forgotten you. He’s strengthening you.

One of the greatest lessons we can teach our children isn’t just how to behave—it’s how to feel and how to forgive.
In today’s episode of the Rooted Woman Podcast, we’re talking about emotional awareness and forgiveness as two of the most powerful “heart skills” we can model for our kids. As moms, it’s easy to focus on correcting actions while missing what’s happening underneath the surface—but God cares deeply about the heart. He created emotions for a purpose. They aren’t something to fear or suppress… they’re something to understand, steward, and surrender to Him.
Your children learn emotional maturity by watching you. When they see you pause instead of react, name your emotions, pray through frustration, and choose grace after conflict, they learn that feelings aren’t enemies—they’re opportunities to grow in wisdom, love, and self-control.
We’re also diving into the deeper meaning of forgiveness. It’s more than saying “sorry” or forcing a quick apology. Colossians 3:13 reminds us that we are called to forgive as the Lord forgave us—fully, freely, and with humility. When your children see you forgive quickly, speak kindly after hurt, and release bitterness, they learn that forgiveness isn’t weakness—it’s freedom.
This episode will encourage you to create a safe space in your home where emotions are acknowledged, expressed in healthy ways, and brought back to the truth of God’s Word. Because mama, your home is their first classroom in love, forgiveness, and faith—and that is legacy work.

Motherhood has a way of putting everyone else first. Between caring for little ones, managing the home, and juggling responsibilities, it’s easy to convince ourselves that self-care is selfish—or even unnecessary. But what if caring for yourself is actually an act of worship? What if the ways you nurture your body, mind, and spirit honor the God who made you?
In this episode, we explore how self-care and beauty can be holy acts of stewardship. 1 Corinthians 10:31 reminds us: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Even the small, intentional choices—taking five minutes for skincare, enjoying a quiet walk, or choosing nourishing foods—can be expressions of gratitude and worship.
We also dive into the difference between outer beauty and inner beauty. Outer beauty fades, but a heart rooted in Christ grows more radiant with time. Cultivating patience, kindness, humility, and joy not only strengthens your spirit—it reflects in how you show up every day. Proverbs 31 reminds us, “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” That kind of beauty isn’t in the mirror; it’s in your love, your service, and your faithful walk with God.
This episode isn’t about vanity or comparison—it’s about balance. Enjoying the little things that help you feel confident and cared for becomes a holy act when your motivation is to honor God, not seek approval. When you care for yourself from a place of gratitude and stewardship, you’re not just restoring your body—you’re honoring the Creator.
Friend, you are allowed to care for you. Rest, nourish, and delight in the gift of your life and your body. When you show up whole and confident in who God says you are, you pour into your family and your calling from a place of abundance, not exhaustion. Self-care is sacred work, and your beauty—inside and out—is a reflection of the God who made you.

Comparison is one of the quietest thieves of joy in motherhood. It slips in through social media, conversations, and even innocent moments of observation—until suddenly we’re questioning our worth, our parenting, and our purpose.
In this episode of Rooted Woman, we talk about why comparison feels so natural, why it’s so damaging, and how God invites us into freedom instead. Galatians 6:4–5 reminds us that we are not called to measure ourselves against other moms, but to faithfully walk the path God uniquely designed for us.
No two mothers share the same story. Your children, your home, your struggles, and your strengths were intentionally chosen by God. Another woman’s success does not diminish your calling. When we shift from comparison to gratitude, our hearts begin to heal and our confidence is restored in Christ.
You’ll learn:• Why comparison thrives where gratitude is absent• How to recognize comparison triggers• How to replace insecurity with contentment• How to root your identity in God’s truth instead of performance• How to celebrate other moms without shrinking yourself
Motherhood was never meant to be a competition. It is a sacred calling. And when we stop measuring ourselves by others and start trusting God with our own journey, we find peace, freedom, and renewed confidence in who He created us to be.
Friend, you are not behind. You are not failing. You are not less than. You are becoming—exactly where God has placed you.

There are stories we carry quietly for years—stories that shape our faith, our motherhood, and our identity long before we ever find the courage to speak them.
In this episode, I share mine.
Not because it’s perfect. Not because it’s polished. But because it has been redeemed.
Rooted Woman was born from surrender—from slow, sacred healing and a God who meets us in the middle of our brokenness. Today, I open my heart to share how trauma, motherhood, and faith intersected in my life, and how God gently rebuilt me piece by piece.
I talk about learning to survive in silence, becoming a mother in a place of fear and uncertainty, and discovering that God brings life out of what was meant to destroy us. I share how healing didn’t come all at once—but in quiet prayers, tear-stained worship, Scripture read through exhaustion, and forgiveness learned slowly.
Psalm 34:18 became my anchor:“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.”
And over time, I began to believe it.
Rooted Woman was not born from success—it was born from obedience. It is not a brand. It is a testimony. A living altar to God’s faithfulness.
If you’ve ever felt unworthy, unseen, overwhelmed, or unsure if God could still use your story—this episode is for you.
Friend, you are not too broken.Your healing is not too slow.Your story is not too messy.Your motherhood is not too imperfect.
God is not finished with you.
In this episode, I pray you see yourself in my story—not for comparison, but for hope. You are becoming. And your story matters, even in the middle of it.
Thank you for being here in this sacred space.Thank you for walking this journey with me.
If this episode encouraged you, I invite you to share it with another woman who needs hope—and remember:
You are not defined by your past. You are defined by the God who makes all things new.
With love,SarahRooted Woman 🤍
