“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says… Whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it… will be blessed in what they do.” — James 1:22–25
Obedience is one of the most important parts of the Christian life—but it’s also one of the hardest. Not because it’s always dramatic or obvious, but because it often shows up in the quiet, everyday moments of motherhood.
The moments where God asks you to forgive when you’d rather hold onto the hurt.
The moments where He nudges you to speak gently when your patience is thin.
The moments where you feel Him calling you to step forward in faith, even when fear tells you to stay comfortable and safe.
In this episode of the Rooted Woman podcast, we’re talking about what it really looks like to walk in obedience—even when it’s uncomfortable, inconvenient, or costly.
James 1 reminds us that we are not called to simply hear God’s Word. We are called to live it. And while the world often frames obedience as restrictive, Scripture tells a completely different story: obedience leads to freedom.
That freedom doesn’t always come instantly. Sometimes obedience involves sacrifice, waiting, or stepping into the unknown. But every time we choose to trust God over our own understanding, we are building a life rooted in truth, faith, and spiritual growth.
As moms, obedience isn’t just a concept—it’s something we live out daily. In the way we respond to stress. In the way we speak to our children. In the way we handle conflict, forgiveness, and the unseen pressures of life.
In this episode, we’ll talk about what obedience really looks like in everyday life, why it doesn’t always feel easy, and how small, faithful steps of obedience shape the kind of woman—and mother—God is calling you to become.
If you’ve ever struggled with knowing what God is asking of you, or if you’re in a season where obedience feels costly, this conversation is for you.
You’ll be reminded that God is not asking for perfection. He is asking for surrender.
And every act of obedience—no matter how small—is shaping a life of freedom, faith, and generational impact.
✨ In this episode, we talk about:
• Why obedience can feel difficult in everyday life
• The difference between hearing God’s Word and living it
• The lie that obedience should always feel easy
• Why obedience leads to freedom, not restriction
• How small, daily choices shape spiritual growth
• Trusting God’s timing when obedience requires waiting
