One of the greatest responsibilities we have as moms isn't simply shaping our children's behavior—it's helping shape their hearts.

We want to raise children who are kind, respectful, and responsible. But even deeper than that, we want to raise children who know Jesus. Children who understand God's love, recognize His truth, and learn how to walk in both.

And if we're honest, finding that balance can be challenging.

Some days we lean heavily into correction and discipline. Other days we lean into comfort and compassion. But Jesus modeled something beautiful for us: He was full of both grace and truth.

Not one or the other.

Both.

In this episode of the Rooted Woman Podcast, we're talking about how to teach our children grace and truth in a way that reflects the heart of God and helps them build a strong foundation of faith.

In this episode, we discuss:

• Why children need both grace and truth to thrive
• The difference between reacting and responding with intention
• Balancing discipline with love and connection
• Seeing the heart behind your child's behavior
• How patience becomes a powerful tool in parenting
• Modeling God's character through everyday moments
• Extending grace to yourself as you grow in motherhood

Grace without truth can leave children without direction.

Truth without grace can leave children feeling condemned.

But when we bring both together, we create an environment where our children feel loved enough to be honest and guided enough to grow.

One of the most powerful lessons our children can learn is that mistakes don't remove them from relationship.

They can be corrected and still be deeply loved.

They can be disciplined and still belong.

They can fail and still be valued.

As moms, that often requires us to slow down and choose intention over frustration.

Instead of simply reacting to behavior, we begin asking deeper questions:

What's happening beneath the surface?

What is my child feeling?

How can I guide them while still protecting connection?

This episode is filled with practical encouragement for those everyday parenting moments that don't always feel significant—but often become the moments our children remember most.

Because teaching grace and truth doesn't happen in perfect circumstances.

It happens in the middle of messy rooms, hard conversations, sibling conflicts, bedtime prayers, apologies, and ordinary days.

And mama, if you've ever felt like you've gotten it wrong, this episode is for you too.

Because while we're teaching our children about God's grace, God is continually extending that same grace to us.

You don't have to parent perfectly.

You simply have to keep showing up, keep growing, and keep allowing God to shape your heart as you shape theirs.

Because when we parent from a place rooted in Christ, we're not just raising well-behaved children.

We're raising children who understand the heart of God.
